LCWC Seats New Board Members

At its May meeting, the Lake County Winegrape Commission seated the four Board Members elected by eligible winegrape growers to serve the 2022-2024 term: new Board Members Pilar Luchsinger White of Luchsinger Vineyards and Padraic Sherlock of Beckstoffer Vineyards, and incumbents Clay Shannon of Shannon Ridge Vineyards, and Jonathan Walters of Brassfield Estate.

The Board appointed the following officers for this year: Jonathan Walters as Chair, Bruce Merrilees of Castilleja Farms LLC as Vice-Chair, and Pete Dodson of Savings Bank of Mendocino as Secretary-Treasurer.

The other grower members serving on the eight-member Board include Cameron Mauritson of L&L Vineyards and Michael Ryan of Perry Ranch Vineyard.

We thank each of them for their dedication to serving our industry.

RECAP: Master Vigneron Academy® Vineyard Tailgate

Tailgate and MVA logos

Miguel Garcia from the Napa Resource Conservation District (RCD) conducted a training as part of the MVA Vineyard Tailgate Series on the topics of soil health and irrigation management. Using several hands-on demonstrations, Miguel showed the importance of soil health and irrigation as it relates to vineyard management. He also demonstrated how to use Distribution Uniformity Kits. LCWC has two full kits that are available for vineyard workers to use. Email mva@lakecountywinegrape.org to check them out.

Thank you to Thomas Mauritson Vineyards for hosting the event on their property.
