Lake County Winegrape Commission Posts Board Election Results
Elections for three seats on the eight-member Lake County Crush District 2 Winegrape Commission Board of Directors recently concluded. Commission President Debra Sommerfield announced the final tabulated results; the three open positions will be filled by incumbent Board members Peter Molnar, Obsidian Ridge Vineyards; David Weiss, Bella Vista Farming; and Buz Dereniuk, Catspaw Vineyard.
The eight-member Board includes seven grower members and one appointed public member with each Board member serving two-year terms. The five other Board members are Randy Krag, Beckstoffer Vineyards; Jeff Lyon, Robin Hill Vineyards; Bill Brunetti, Brunetti Management; Jonathan Walters, Robinson Lake Vineyards; and Broc Zoller, Zoller Vineyards.
Elected Board Members will be seated at the next regularly scheduled Commission meeting, which is slated for June 11, 2013. Voter ballots were tabulated by the third-party accounting firm of Pehling & Pehling CPAs.
Each year, Lake County winegrape growers are encouraged to cast their ballots, which are mailed to all eligible Lake County growers. Commission nomination and election procedures, pursuant to California Food and Agricultural Code 74928.1, are posted online at the Commission’s web site.
The purpose of the Lake County Winegrape Commission is to implement effective marketing, education, and research programs on behalf of Lake County winegrape growers.
