Congratulations to Several Lake County Wineries

Award Winners graphicCongratulations to several Lake County wineries for taking top awards in the recent Food & Beverage World’s California Wines of the Year and 6th annual American Fine Wine competitions!

At the 6th annual American Fine Wine Competition, Jan. 20-21, 2013, Double Gold Medals were awarded to Cache Creek Winery for its 2009 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon and to Robledo Family Vineyard for its 2008 El Rey Cabernet Sauvignon.

In addition, several Lake County wines scored gold and silver medals. Among the gold winners were:

  •  2011 Robledo Seven Brothers Sauvignon Blanc,
  • 2011 Shannon Ridge Winery High Elevation Collection Sauvignon Blanc,
  • 2009 Shannon Ridge Winery Caldwell Ranch Petite Sirah,
  • 2009 Sol Rouge Petite Sirah, and 2008 Sol Rouge “The Keep” Lake County Red.

Winning wines in the Food & Beverage World competition:

  • Hawk & Horse Vineyards 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, a runner-up for Best Cabernet
  • Sol Rouge 2009 Cab Franc, a runner-up for Best Other Bordeaux – Reds
  • Shannon Ridge 2011 “High Elevation” Sauvignon Blanc, top runner-up for Best Bordeaux – Whites.
